New artisans prefer Plaster of Paris over traditional clay to create their idols because of economic reasons as well as easier pliability. Moulds are used to mass produce small idols for the home market. The little detail that the idols will not fade away graciously in the waters during immersion are conveniently ignored. God willing, better sense will prevail someday.
