Sikandara, the final resting place of Emperor Akbar, is built in the popular Charbagh pattern. The staid architecture of the main building inside is in stark contrast to the opulence of the Mughal Empire of that time. Akbar is believed to have chosen this intentionally to project an image of a firm, people's ruler.
