An Exhibition on Ganesha - Sanskriti Lifestyle Art Gallery
My wife Ami and I held an exhibition with artist Khimand Joshi during September 2007 on the theme of Ganesha. The exhibition was held over a week at Pune's Sanskriti Lifestyle Art Gallery at Koregaon Park.
I had taken photographs of the previous Ganapati festival in 2006 during the run-up at the Ganapati workshops in Lal Baug, Mumbai, as well as on the last day of immersions. Ami, for her part, had been working on creating canvases on the same theme since early 2007 with no particular goal in mind. We archived our material and put it aside after a while. But when Khimand offered us an opportunity to join him during his exhibition, we both hopped on with gusto.
The exhibition received coverage in the Pune edition of the Indian Express.
