I continue with my unabashed praise for digital photography and it's advantages. In the eight months since I got the Nikon D40, I have probably taken more pictures than I did in five years of owning the Nikon FM10. The instant feedback has encouraged experimentation, and being far from an expert, I am able to remedy mistakes at the drop of a hat (or the click of a shutter). This picture was shot some months ago through a borrowed magnifier attachment and took some patience and plenty of wasted pixels to get right. The spider kept jumping, which, combined with the long shutter speeds neccesitated by the dim indoor light, made for some very abstract motion blurs but no really interesting spider-portraits. A fortituous moment of correct exposure, focus and depth of field finally helped me capture this rather menancing macro.
