Although I enjoy film, and consider it as a very pure form of photographic artistry, the lag-time to reach results and high cost put a very real obstacle between experimenting with new techniques. I restricted myself to mostly shooting outdoors, in good light, and plenty of bracketing.
Enter digital photography, in a small but efficient package. My Canon A530, purchased almost a year back had been greatly underutilised all this while. Uma and Rashmi, colleagues at work, rekindled my passion for picture taking and introduced me to features of the camera that I was unaware of - my favourite being the macro mode. The vastly increased scope for experimentation, phenomenally faster feedback and the resultant increase in my knowledge have all swept me off my feet.
I'm converted finally.
This month's photograph is a sampling of some of this experimentation. And you should look forward to hearing more about my adventures with digital photography in the coming weeks.
Update (15/12/2007): My new Nikon D40 DSLR got delivered today. That's another step towards my conversion to digital photography.
